A self-transfer itinerary includes different flights combined into one itinerary by BudgetAir.fr. These flights are operated by different airlines that do not have an interline agreement. After booking, the itinerary will be split into multiple reservations, and tickets will be issued individually as separate e-tickets delivered to the inbox. Self-transfer itineraries may require completing entry and exit procedures, collecting baggage, and checking in again during transfers. Therefore, it is essential to have all the necessary travel documents for the countries and regions involved in the journey. Make sure to obtain all required visas for check-in on each flight.

How it works

    If a flight is missed due to a change, cancellation, or delay, BudgetAir.fr will rebook the affected segment within the limits of the airline’s policy.

    If alternative transport (bus, train, etc.) is required, BudgetAir.fr will cover the cost.

    If the tickets have not been used, a full refund will be issued for all affected segments (some airlines may provide refunds in the form of vouchers).

What to do

When contacting BudgetAir.fr to report a problematic change, cancellation, or delay affecting the flight, a new travel plan will be provided. If the proposed option is suitable, costs for meals, alternative transport, and even accommodation will be covered if necessary. Here’s how to benefit from these advantages:

  1. When a change, cancellation, or delay disrupts the travel itinerary, inform BudgetAir.fr by phone, live chat, or email via the customer service page.

  2. Once informed, a new travel plan will be prepared. A response is required within 24 hours — either accept the proposed plan or suggest an alternative.

  3. In certain cases, alternative flights can be purchased via third-party channels. Refer to the conditions below. Proof of payment must be provided within 14 days after the original scheduled arrival date.

Additional benefits

  • Meals and refreshments 🍽️☕
    If the layover in the new itinerary exceeds 4 hours, a contribution towards meals and refreshments will be provided.
    Maximum: 15 USD per passenger

  • Accommodation 🛏️
    If the new flight is scheduled for the next day and the layover exceeds 8 hours, accommodation costs will be partially covered (per room per night).
    Maximum: 50 USD

  • Transport allowance 🚕
    If the new flight departs from another airport, a contribution will be made towards transport to the new departure location (per trip).
    Maximum: 120 USD
